Bestückungsdaten, often translated as assembly data or bill of materials for assembly, are crucial pieces of information used in the manufacturing of electronic assemblies. They detail the components required for a specific printed circuit board (PCB) and their precise placement. This data is generated by design engineers or PCB layout software and is essential for automated assembly processes.

The core of bestückungsdaten includes a list of all components to be placed on the PCB. For each component, the data specifies its reference designator (e.g., R1, C2, U3), its part number or description, and often its manufacturer and supplier. This ensures that the correct component is selected for placement.

Furthermore, bestückungsdaten provide precise placement information for each component. This includes the X and Y coordinates of the component's center or a specific placement point, as well as its rotation or orientation on the PCB.
