Beleuchter

Beleuchter is a term used in German-speaking theatre, film, and live events to refer to the lighting technician responsible for the execution and operation of the lighting plan. In theatre, a Beleuchter works under the lighting designer (Beleuchtungsgestalter or Lichtdesigner) to implement the concept. The Beleuchter installs and runs the lighting during rehearsals and performances, focuses and adjusts fixtures, selects color gels, programs cues, and ensures that the lighting changes occur reliably. In larger productions, the role may be supported by a Beleuchtungsmeister who supervises the lighting department.
