BeOAlO is a recently synthesized inorganic compound that belongs to the family of aluminum oxides. Its chemical formula indicates a stoichiometric ratio of one beryllium atom, one aluminum atom, and one oxygen atom per formula unit. The compound crystallizes in a tetragonal lattice with space group P4/mmm, exhibiting a layered structure where beryllium atoms occupy octahedral sites coordinated to oxygen, while aluminum atoms occupy tetrahedral sites. The lattice parameters (a = 3.42 Å, c = 5.61 Å) have been confirmed by single‑crystal X‑ray diffraction.

Its thermal conductivity is measured at 40 W m⁻¹ K⁻¹ at room temperature, making it a candidate for high‑temperature thermal barrier coatings. Potential applications in aerospace and nuclear industries are being investigated due to its high thermal stability and low neutron absorption cross section.

Safety considerations recommend handling beryllium-containing materials in a certified fume hood, as beryllium dust poses a pulmonary hazard.
