Basenpaarveränderungen, often referred to as base pair alterations or base substitutions, are changes in the DNA sequence where one nucleotide base is replaced by another. DNA is composed of four nitrogenous bases: adenine (A), guanine (G), cytosine (C), and thymine (T). These bases pair specifically: A with T, and G with C.
