Balban
Balban, full name Ghiyas-ud-din Balban, was a 13th-century ruler of the Delhi Sultanate and a prominent member of the Slave (Mamluk) dynasty. He ruled from 1266 to 1287 CE in Delhi and is remembered for strengthening the central authority of the sultanate after a period of weaker monarchs and external threats.
