Backbonet
Backbonet is a genus of small to medium-sized birds in the family Furnariidae, commonly known as ovenbirds. The genus includes three species, all of which are native to South America. Backbonet birds are characterized by their long, curved bills, which they use to probe for insects and other small invertebrates in the soil. They are typically found in dense vegetation, such as forests and scrublands, and are often seen perching on branches or the ground.
The three species of Backbonet are:
1. Rufous-backed Backbonet (Backbonet rufescens): This species is found in the eastern slopes of the Andes in
2. White-throated Backbonet (Backbonet albogularis): This species is found in the eastern slopes of the Andes
3. Black-throated Backbonet (Backbonet melanogularis): This species is found in the eastern slopes of the Andes
Backbonet birds are generally secretive and difficult to observe, making them a popular subject for birdwatchers.
