Brigham Young University–Idaho, often referred to as BYU-Idaho or BYUI, is a private university in Rexburg, Idaho, United States. It is owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and is one of the church's four institutions of higher learning. The university was founded in 1888 as Ricks Academy, a secondary school. In 1903, it became a junior college and later a four-year college. In 2001, the university was granted university status and renamed Brigham Young University–Idaho.
