BPCS

BPCS stands for Business Planning and Control System. It is an enterprise resource planning (ERP) software system that was originally developed by System Software Associates (SSA) in the 1980s. BPCS is designed to manage a wide range of business processes, including manufacturing, finance, human resources, and supply chain management. The system is modular, allowing businesses to implement the components that best fit their specific needs.

Over the years, BPCS has undergone several iterations and updates. SSA was acquired by Infor Global Solutions in 2005, and Infor has continued to develop and support the BPCS product line, often rebranding it as Infor LX or Infor LN depending on the specific version and target market. The system is known for its robustness and its widespread use in manufacturing industries, particularly in discrete manufacturing and process manufacturing environments.

BPCS provides functionalities such as material requirements planning (MRP), production scheduling, inventory control, order management, and financial accounting. Its integrated nature aims to streamline operations, improve data accuracy, and provide better visibility into business performance.
