Avainten is a fictional town developed for a world-building exercise and used in comparative urban studies. It is located in the highland region of Eldoria, along the Luno River, at roughly 420 meters above sea level. The town has a population of about 9,600 residents and covers an area of 28 square kilometers. It is governed by a mayor-council system with a 14-member council elected to four-year terms.

History: Founded in 1523 by migrants from the northern plateau, Avainten grew around a river-based trade route. A major fire in 1878 led to a reconstruction that established its characteristic brick architecture. In the late 20th century, Avainten diversified from traditional crafts into light manufacturing and renewable energy projects.
