Augenlängenänderungen
Augenlängenänderungen, also known as axial length changes, refer to alterations in the length of the eyeball. This elongation or shortening of the eye can significantly impact vision. The primary reason for changes in eye length is related to the development of refractive errors, most commonly myopia (nearsightedness) and hyperopia (farsightedness).
In myopia, the eyeball grows too long, causing light to focus in front of the retina instead
These changes in axial length are particularly common during childhood and adolescence as the body develops.
