Atelamias
Atelamias is a genus of small, nocturnal, insectivorous mammals native to the rainforests of Central and South America. The genus includes two species: Atelamias fuliginosus, found in Colombia and Ecuador, and Atelamias nigriceps, which inhabits the Amazon basin. These animals are known for their distinctive appearance, with a long, slender body, large ears, and a bushy tail. They possess a prehensile tail, which they use for grasping branches and navigating their arboreal habitat.
Atelamias are solitary creatures, spending most of their time foraging for insects and other small invertebrates.
These mammals are adapted to their arboreal lifestyle, with strong hind limbs and a long, flexible tail
Despite their small size and relatively simple ecology, Atelamias play an important role in their ecosystems
