Aspergerin
Aspergerin is a term that has been used informally and in some older literature to refer to individuals who might now be diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Historically, Asperger syndrome was a distinct diagnosis in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM), characterized by difficulties in social interaction and nonverbal communication, alongside restricted and repetitive patterns of behavior and interests. However, it was not associated with significant delays in language development or cognitive abilities, which distinguished it from other forms of autism.
In 2013, the DSM-5 integrated Asperger syndrome into the broader category of Autism Spectrum Disorder. This
