Arvestajaform

Arvestajaform is a standardized accounting form used by bookkeepers to capture and classify financial transactions within an accounting system. The term combines arvestaja, Estonian for bookkeeper or accountant, with form, and is used in Estonian-language accounting contexts as a generic label for templates central to data entry and posting.

Its purpose is to ensure consistency, accuracy, and traceability across records, supporting internal controls and external reporting. In modern environments arvestajaform is typically electronic, embedded in accounting software, but it may also exist as a structured paper form in some organizations.

Typical content includes the date and document number, debit and credit accounts, amount and currency, tax codes or VAT, a concise description, and optional fields such as cost center, project code, reference, and approver.

Forms are created or edited by the bookkeeper or system administrator and undergo validation before postings to the general ledger. They generate an audit trail and feed into financial statements, VAT returns, and management reports. The use of arvestajaform supports standardization, reduces data-entry errors, and facilitates automation and compliance with accounting standards.
