Arteriaalseteks
Arteriaalseteks is a term that refers to the arterial system of the body. The arterial system is a network of blood vessels that carry oxygenated blood from the heart to the rest of the body. These vessels are characterized by their thick, muscular walls, which are able to withstand the high pressure of blood pumped by the heart. Arteries branch into smaller arterioles, which then lead to capillaries, the smallest blood vessels where the exchange of oxygen and nutrients with tissues occurs. The venous system then returns deoxygenated blood back to the heart.
Diseases affecting the arterial system, often referred to as arterial diseases, can have significant health implications.
