Arrangører

Arrangörer are individuals or organizations responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing events or activities. The term covers a wide range of actors, including private companies, nonprofit associations, public authorities, and freelance organizers. They can organize cultural events, sports competitions, conferences, concerts, festivals, trade fairs, charity galas, and community activities.

The core duties of an arrangör typically include concept development and program design, budgeting and funding, scheduling, venue selection, and contract negotiations with venues, performers, suppliers, and sponsors. They are also responsible for obtaining necessary permits and insurance, risk assessment and safety planning, accessibility considerations, and overall production logistics. In addition, arrangörer handle marketing, ticketing, and communications, as well as coordinating staff, vendors, transportation, and on-site operations. Many organizers work with partners, agencies, or subcontractors while retaining overall responsibility for the event.

Arrangörer can operate as sole proprietors, part of a company, or as part of a cooperative or public entity. They may work independently or as co-organizers (co-arrangörer) on larger projects. The role requires project management skills, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to manage contingencies and changes in plans. In practice, an arranger’s success is measured by the event’s execution, safety, attendee satisfaction, and post-event evaluation.
