Ardashir
Ardashir I, also known as Ardeshir, was a Persian ruler who founded the Sassanian (Sassanid) Empire and reigned circa 224–242 CE. He arose from Persis (modern Fars Province) as a local prince of the Arsacid era and capitalized on weakness within the Parthian realm to establish a new Iranian state.
