Apioceridae, commonly known as bloom flies or flower-loving flies, is a small family of flies in the order Diptera. They are characterized by their relatively large, robust bodies and their habit of visiting flowers, where they feed on nectar. The family is found primarily in arid and semi-arid regions of North and South America, with a few species extending into Australia. There are currently around 120 described species within the Apioceridae family.
