Aphidophagy is the practice of consuming aphids. This behavior is widespread in the animal kingdom and plays a significant role in natural aphid population control. Many insects, arachnids, and even some birds and mammals are known aphid predators. Ladybugs, lacewings, hoverflies, and praying mantises are among the most common insect predators, often consuming large numbers of aphids in their larval and adult stages.
