Anångretarders
Anångretarders are a class of chemical compounds that are added to materials to slow down or prevent combustion. Their primary function is to reduce the flammability of a substance, making it safer in applications where fire risk is a concern. These retarders work through various mechanisms. Some operate in the solid phase by forming a protective char layer on the surface of the material, which insulates the underlying substance from heat and oxygen. Others function in the gas phase by releasing inert gases that dilute flammable gases or by scavenging free radicals involved in the combustion chain reaction.
The effectiveness and type of anångretarder used depend heavily on the material being protected and the intended
