Antitromboottisiin

Antitromboottisiin (also known as antithrombotic therapy or thrombosis prevention) is a medical treatment aimed at preventing the formation of blood clots, particularly in individuals at high risk of thrombosis. The term "antitromboottisiin" is derived from the Greek words "anti" (against), "trombo" (clot or thrombus), and "osee" (to prevent).

Antitromboottisiin typically involves the use of medications that prevent blood clots from forming or reduce their size and dissolution. The most common types of antitromboottisiin medications include anticoagulants and antiplatelet agents. Anticoagulants, such as warfarin and low molecular weight heparin, work by inhibiting the production of thrombin, a protein involved in the clotting process. Antiplatelet agents, such as aspirin and clopidogrel, prevent platelets from aggregating and forming clots.

Antitromboottisiin is commonly used in patients with conditions that increase their risk of thrombosis, such as atrial fibrillation, deep venous thrombosis, and pulmonary embolism.
