Allmänkirurgi
Allmänkirurgi, often translated as general surgery, is a surgical specialty that focuses on a broad range of operative procedures, typically involving the abdominal organs, but also encompassing the breast, thyroid, and extremities. General surgeons are trained to treat patients with a variety of conditions through surgical intervention. This can include diseases of the digestive system, such as appendicitis, hernias, gallstones, and bowel obstructions. They also commonly perform surgeries related to the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon, liver, pancreas, and spleen.
Beyond the abdomen, general surgeons often address issues of the breast, including biopsies and cancer removal.
