Allergihistorik
Allergihistorik is a term used in medical and historical contexts to refer to two related ideas: the record of an individual’s allergic history in clinical care and the broader historical study of allergy as a medical discipline. In clinical practice, an allergic history is collected to inform diagnosis and management, focusing on past and current allergic reactions, timing and triggers, symptom patterns and severity, family history of atopy, comorbid conditions, environmental and occupational exposures, medications, and dietary factors. Structured interviews, patient diaries, and standardized questionnaires are commonly used, complemented by diagnostic tests such as skin prick tests and serum-specific IgE measurements, with supervised oral food challenges when indicated. Management relies on avoidance strategies, pharmacotherapy, and, for some conditions, immunotherapy.
Historically, the field traces its roots to observations of hay fever and other hypersensitivities. Clemens von
