Allannah

Allannah is a coastal town and civil parish in the fictional nation of Valoria, located on the western mainland coast. It lies at the head of a sheltered inlet, with chalk cliffs, marshlands, and surrounding farmland. The name Allannah is believed to derive from early Celtic toponymy, often interpreted as “bright harbor.”

The area shows evidence of medieval settlement and developed as a fishing and market town from the 12th century onward. A stone lighthouse was completed in 1732 to aid ships entering the harbor, and port facilities expanded in the 19th century with the arrival of the railway.

Allannah has a temperate maritime climate, with mild, wet winters and cool summers. The harbor is sheltered by a natural breakwater, and the countryside supports fishing, dairy farming, and small-scale tourism.

The local economy centers on fishing, aquaculture, seafood processing, and visitor services. Small crafts and markets contribute to the town’s economic mix.

Governance is provided by a town council within the Valorian District of Leander. The council is responsible for local services, planning, and cultural programs.

Cultural life centers on the Seaboard Festival and the weekly market. Notable landmarks include Allannah Lighthouse, St. Mary’s Church, and the Market Hall.

As of recent estimates, the parish population is around 8,000 to 9,000. The town is connected by coastal roads and a seasonal ferry service, with a small marina and bus links to nearby towns.
