Alamsuunas

Alamsuunas, also known as *Alamsuuna* or *Alamsuuna Island*, is a small, uninhabited island located in the Gulf of Finland, between Finland and Estonia. The island is part of the archipelago of the Finnish mainland and is situated approximately 15 kilometers northeast of the city of Helsinki. Its exact coordinates are roughly 60.18°N latitude and 25.58°E longitude.

Alamsuunas is notable for its historical significance and natural beauty. The island was once a strategic military outpost during the Cold War era, housing radar and communication facilities due to its elevated terrain and advantageous location. These installations were part of Finland’s defense infrastructure, designed to monitor maritime and aerial activities in the region.
