Akselleratorer, a term derived from the Swedish word for accelerator, refers to entities or programs designed to foster the growth and development of startups and emerging businesses. These akselleratorer typically provide a structured environment for entrepreneurs to refine their business models, gain access to mentorship, secure funding, and build their networks. The core idea is to speed up the success trajectory of promising companies.

Common components of an aksellerator program include a cohort-based approach where multiple startups work alongside each other, intensive training sessions covering areas such as product development, marketing, sales, and finance, and mentorship from experienced professionals and investors. Many akselleratorer also offer seed funding in exchange for equity, allowing startups to develop their minimum viable product and gain early traction.
