Akkumulátortípusok refers to the various types of rechargeable batteries. The most common rechargeable battery chemistry is lithium-ion, which is widely used in portable electronics, electric vehicles, and energy storage systems due to its high energy density and relatively long lifespan. Lithium-ion batteries are further categorized into subtypes like Lithium Cobalt Oxide (LiCoO2), Lithium Manganese Oxide (LiMn2O4), Lithium Nickel Manganese Cobalt Oxide (NMC), and Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4), each offering different performance characteristics.

Nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) batteries are another popular rechargeable option, often found in hybrid vehicles and some consumer electronics. They offer a good balance of energy density and safety compared to older nickel-cadmium (NiCd) batteries, which are now less common due to environmental concerns related to cadmium.

Lead-acid batteries, while older technology, remain a dominant force in automotive starting, lighting, and ignition (SLI) applications, as well as in uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) and backup power systems. They are cost-effective and reliable but have lower energy density and a shorter cycle life compared to lithium-ion.

Other less common but significant akkumulátortípusok include lithium-polymer (LiPo) batteries, which are flexible and can be molded into various shapes, making them ideal for slim devices. Sodium-ion batteries are emerging as a promising alternative to lithium-ion, utilizing more abundant and less expensive materials. The choice of akkumulátortípus depends heavily on the specific application's requirements for energy density, power output, cost, lifespan, safety, and environmental impact.
