Adversity

Adversity refers to misfortune, hardship, or difficulty that hinders an individual or group from pursuing goals or maintaining well-being. It can arise from personal events such as illness, injury, or financial loss, as well as from collective circumstances such as natural disasters, economic recession, or discrimination. Adversity can be acute and rapidly changing, or chronic and ongoing, and its effects depend on context and resources.
