Actionsfrom is a term used in software design to describe a utility, pattern, or function that derives a collection of actions from a given source. The concept is particularly common in event-driven architectures, state management libraries, and reactive programming, where actions represent discrete operations that alter application state or trigger side effects.

Sources can include user input, data streams, or changes in application state. The primary idea is to translate raw data or events into a standardized set of actions, often by applying a mapping or action-creation function. This can help reduce boilerplate by centralizing how events are converted into dispatchable actions.

Usage often involves a source, a set of action creators, and a mechanism to dispatch the resulting actions. Pseudo-code examples might look like: actionsFrom(source, createAction).subscribe(dispatch). Here, each item from the source is mapped to an action via createAction and then sent to the dispatch function.

Variations exist. Some implementations call it an operator or helper in streams (for example, converting an event stream into an action stream). Others implement it as a higher-order function that returns a transformer: given a source, return a function that yields actions. In Redux-like ecosystems, actionsFrom is often aligned with the pattern of action creators and middleware that handles action dispatch.
