The Achensee Dampf Zahnradbahn, often shortened to ADZ or simply Achenseebahn, is a historic cogwheel railway operating in Tyrol, Austria. It connects Jenbach on the main Arlberg railway line with the village of Eben am Achensee, situated near the shores of the Achensee lake. The railway was originally built in 1889 to transport goods and tourists to the increasingly popular Achensee region.

The line is a marvel of engineering, climbing a steep gradient of up to 16% using a rack and pinion system. This allows the steam locomotives to reliably ascend the mountainous terrain. The journey itself offers picturesque views of the Tyrolean landscape, with rolling hills, meadows, and glimpses of the Karwendel Alps.

Today, the Achenseebahn operates primarily as a heritage railway, offering a nostalgic travel experience. It is a popular tourist attraction, particularly during the summer months. The journey takes approximately 45 minutes. The original steam locomotives, many of which have been meticulously restored, still pull the carriages, providing a unique and authentic steam train experience. The railway plays a significant role in the local tourism industry, preserving a piece of industrial and transport history while offering visitors a charming way to reach the Achensee.
