Key principles: Reduce latency perception through optimistic updates and parallel processing; use velocity-based animations that scale with user input; provide input buffering and prefetching to anticipate next actions; employ progressive disclosure so that the interface remains responsive without overwhelming the user; maintain clear feedback and communicate current momentum and limits to avoid confusion.
