Abstrakcie

Abstrakcie is the locative singular form of the Polish noun abstrakt, meaning “the abstract” in the sense of a concise summary of a longer work. In Polish academic writing, abstrakcie appears in phrases such as w abstrakcie artykułu, referring to the abstract of a study or paper. The term signals that the following text concerns a summary rather than the full document.

The abstract itself serves to inform readers quickly about the main points of a work. It typically states the purpose or research question, the methods or approach used, the key results or findings, and the conclusions drawn. The abstract helps readers decide whether to read the full article and assists in indexing and searchability in bibliographic databases.

Types and structure can vary by discipline and publisher. Many abstracts are descriptive, outlining the topic and scope, while informative abstracts provide concrete results and conclusions. In scientific writing, abstracts are often more structured, with labeled sections such as cel (goal), metody (methods), wyniki (results), and wnioski (conclusions); Polish journal practices may also include a separate section for keywords (słowa kluczowe). They typically use past tense for reported results and present tense for conclusions, avoiding informal language and excessive jargon.
