Aangeplante

Aangeplante is a Dutch adjective derived from aanplanten, meaning planted or transplanted by human action. It describes plants or plantings that have been introduced into an area by people rather than arising through natural regeneration. In everyday use, it is common to hear about aangeplante bomen, aangeplante fruitbomen or een aangeplante bos.

In ecology, the term is used to distinguish flora that is not native to a region from indigenous vegetation. Aangeplante species may be introduced deliberately, for example for forestry, agriculture, or landscaping, or unintentionally through human activity. If such species persist and spread beyond their original scope, they can become naturalized or, in some cases, invasive, potentially affecting local biodiversity.

In horticulture and land management, the concept emphasizes human influence on plant distributions. Aangeplante plantings are typically evaluated for their ecological impact, economic value, and maintenance needs.
