It is not a formal standard but a practical label for workflows defined within organizations.

The AVkjede typically comprises several phases. Planning and preproduction set the goals and requirements; capture and acquisition involve cameras, microphones, and other devices to record material. Post-production covers editing, color grading, sound design, and visual effects. Mastering and packaging include encoding, transcoding, adding subtitles or captions, applying metadata, and performing quality control. Distribution transports the content to audiences via broadcast, streaming, or physical media, while playback and display concern how the content is rendered on monitors, projectors, or consumer devices.
