AVItoetsen are a group of standardized reading assessments commonly used in Dutch primary education to determine a pupil's reading level, fluency, and text comprehension. The tests are designed to chart a child's progress over time and to identify readers who may need additional support. Typically, a test session involves reading aloud or silently from graded passages, followed by questions that assess understanding, speed, and accuracy.
