APItuen

APItuen is a cloud-based platform designed to support the design, publication, and governance of application programming interfaces (APIs). It provides tools for creating API specifications, mocking responses, and iterating contracts, as well as a catalog and developer portal for consumption.

The platform emphasizes interoperability, supporting REST, GraphQL, and gRPC APIs, and exporting or importing definitions using OpenAPI, Swagger, and AsyncAPI formats. APItuen also includes an API gateway and policy engine used to control traffic, secure endpoints, and enforce usage rules.

Core components include an API designer, versioning and lifecycle management, an API catalog, a secure gateway with authentication options (OAuth 2.0, JWT, API keys), rate limiting and quotas, and analytics dashboards. The developer portal enables documentation, code samples, and self-service onboarding.

Architecturally, APItuen is designed as a cloud-native solution with containerized services and optional Kubernetes deployment. It supports multi-region hosting, on-premises or hybrid deployments, and compliance features such as access controls and data residency options.

Common use cases include exposing internal microservices to partners, building B2B API programs, enabling SaaS integrations, and orchestrating API-based data flows in event-driven architectures.

APItuen originated as a project to streamline API workflows and governance and is available as a SaaS service with optional on-premises deployment.
