ADCTDC

ADCTDC stands for Antibody-Drug Conjugate Targeted Drug Delivery. It represents a therapeutic approach that combines the specificity of antibodies with the potent cytotoxic effect of chemotherapy drugs. The fundamental principle behind ADCTDC is to deliver highly toxic cancer drugs directly to cancer cells while sparing healthy tissues, thereby minimizing systemic side effects.

Antibodies are proteins that can specifically recognize and bind to certain molecules, known as antigens. In the context of cancer therapy, antibodies are designed to target antigens that are overexpressed on the surface of cancer cells but are less abundant or absent on normal cells. This targeted binding ensures that the therapeutic agent is delivered primarily to the tumor.

The antibody component of an ADCTDC is chemically linked to a highly potent cytotoxic drug, often referred to as the "payload." Once the antibody binds to its target antigen on a cancer cell, the ADCTDC is internalized by the cell. Inside the cell, the link between the antibody and the drug is cleaved, releasing the cytotoxic drug. This released drug then exerts its toxic effect, killing the cancer cell.

This targeted delivery mechanism offers several advantages over traditional chemotherapy. By concentrating the drug at the tumor site, ADCTDC therapy can potentially achieve higher efficacy with lower doses, leading to a better safety profile and reduced adverse events.
