ACPET

The Australian Council for Private Education and Training, commonly known as ACPET, was a peak national body representing independent providers of vocational education and training (VET) and higher education in Australia. Established in 1992, ACPET played a significant role in advocating for the private VET sector and ensuring quality standards. Its membership comprised a diverse range of institutions, including registered training organizations (RTOs), university colleges, and other private higher education providers.

ACPET's primary functions included representing its members' interests to government bodies, regulators, and industry stakeholders. It actively engaged in policy development, provided professional development opportunities for its members, and offered advice and support on regulatory compliance and best practices. The organization aimed to promote a vibrant and sustainable private VET and higher education sector that contributed to Australia's workforce development and economic growth. ACPET also focused on promoting ethical conduct and quality assurance among its members, fostering confidence in the private education landscape for students and employers alike. In 2019, ACPET merged with the International Education Association of Australia (IEAA) to form Study Gold Coast.
