229999
229999 is a numbered minor planet belonging to the inner region of the main asteroid belt. It was first observed on 14 July 2005 by the Spacewatch survey at Kitt Peak Observatory in Arizona. The discovery sites of the subsequent observations that confirmed its orbit were conducted by several automated sky-survey projects, including LINEAR and Pan-STARRS. The provisional designation of the object, assigned at the time of discovery, was 2005 KG41. After enough observations were accumulated to reliably calculate its orbit, the Minor Planet Center assigned the permanent number 229999.
The asteroid orbits the Sun with a semi‑major axis of approximately 2.33 astronomical units, an orbital period
