02mA is a Dutch electronic music project founded in 2017 by producer and composer Joris van den Broek in Amsterdam. The name, stylized as 02mA, reflects the initials of the project’s original partner, an engineer named M. A.; the name was later shortened to a minimalist moniker that also hints at the subtle current measurement “0.02 mA,” resonating with the duo’s emphasis on delicate sonic textures.

The project emerged from a collaboration between van den Broek and architect Felix Janssen, who contributed aesthetic visual concepts and live performance design. Their early work was characterized by experimental glitch techniques blended with minimal techno foundations, often incorporating field recordings from urban landscapes. After Janssen’s departure in 2019, van den Broek continued 02mA as a solo act, expanding the sound palette to include ambient drones and vocal samples processed through granular synthesis.

02mA’s discography includes the debut EP “Pulse 01” (2018), the full-length album “Null Point” (2020), and the single “Static Flow” (2022). Critics have highlighted the project’s ability to create expansive soundscapes from sparse rhythmic motifs, noting influences from Brian Eno, Aphex Twin, and contemporary Dutch minimalists. The project has performed at festivals such as Lowlands and Manifesta, and has collaborated with visual artists on immersive installation pieces.

As of 2026, 02mA continues to release music through their label, Arcadia Records, and maintains an active presence on streaming platforms, while also curating a series of online live sessions featuring experimental sound art.
