Ületäitumine, often translated as overflow or overfilling, is a concept that can appear in various contexts, referring to a situation where something exceeds its designated capacity or limits.

In engineering and physics, ületäitumine can describe the physical phenomenon of a container or system being filled beyond its structural or functional limits. This can lead to spillage, damage, or system malfunction. For instance, a dam reaching its maximum water level and causing water to spill over is a form of ületäitumine. Similarly, in electrical circuits, an overload or overflow condition might be referred to as ületäitumine if it exceeds the designed capacity of components, potentially causing them to fail.

In computer science, ületäitumine has a specific meaning related to data storage.
