Összehúzódások is the Hungarian word for contractions. In a physiological context, it refers to the tightening and shortening of muscles. This is a fundamental process in the body, enabling movement, maintaining posture, and facilitating various bodily functions.

The most common association with the term "összehúzódások" is in the context of childbirth. During labor, the uterus, a muscular organ, undergoes rhythmic contractions. These contractions serve to thin and open the cervix, allowing the baby to pass through the birth canal. The intensity and frequency of these contractions typically increase as labor progresses.
