In contrast, cognitivism views learning as an internal mental process. This model focuses on how individuals process, store, and retrieve information, highlighting the role of memory, attention, and problem-solving. Piaget's theory of cognitive development, for instance, describes distinct stages of intellectual growth.

Constructivism, another influential learning model, suggests that learners actively construct their own understanding and knowledge through experiences and reflection.
