Északadás is a Hungarian term that translates to "northward movement" or "northward expansion." In historical contexts, it most commonly refers to the gradual territorial expansion and influence of Hungarian tribes and later the Kingdom of Hungary towards the north and northeast. This process spanned several centuries, beginning with the early Magyar settlements and continuing through the medieval period.

The initial nomadic migrations of the Hungarian tribes in the late 9th century saw them settling in the Carpathian Basin. From this core territory, their influence and control began to extend outwards. The term "északadás" particularly highlights the efforts to secure and incorporate lands north and northeast of the Danube River. This included areas that would later become parts of modern-day Slovakia, parts of Poland, and other neighboring territories.

This expansion was driven by various factors, including the need for resources, defensive strategies against neighboring peoples, and the political ambitions of Hungarian rulers. The establishment of fortified settlements, administrative centers, and the spread of Christianity facilitated the consolidation of Hungarian power in these northern regions.
