Þingeyrarsandur
Þingeyrarsandur is a large sandur, or outwash plain, located in northern Iceland. It is situated in the Eyjafjörður region, east of the fjord of the same name and west of the Tröllaskagi peninsula. The sandur is formed by glacial rivers depositing sediment over time, primarily from the Vatnajökull ice cap. This extensive area of gravel and sand stretches for many kilometers, creating a stark and often treeless landscape.
