Érprotézisek

Érprotézisek, also known as vascular prostheses or artificial blood vessels, are synthetic tubes used to replace or bypass damaged or diseased sections of blood vessels. They are commonly employed in cardiovascular surgery to treat conditions such as atherosclerosis, aneurysms, and vascular trauma.

These prostheses are typically made from biocompatible materials like polyester (Dacron) or polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), often referred to as expanded PTFE (ePTFE) or GORE-TEX. The choice of material depends on factors such as the size of the vessel, the location of the repair, and the specific surgical need.

Érprotézisek are designed to be durable and to allow for tissue ingrowth, which helps to integrate them into the body's circulatory system. They come in various diameters and lengths to match natural blood vessels. The implantation procedure involves surgically connecting the prosthesis to the healthy ends of the blood vessel, creating a seamless conduit for blood flow.
