Élészlelés

Élészlelés, also known as the "fifth sense," is a phenomenon described by Hungarian parapsychologist Éva Pócs in the 1970s. It refers to the alleged ability of some individuals to perceive information about a person or object without any physical interaction or sensory input. This concept is often compared to extrasensory perception (ESP) but is distinct in that it does not involve the traditional five senses.

Pócs claimed that élészlelés allows individuals to gain knowledge about a person or object by simply thinking about it. She proposed that this ability is innate and can be developed through training. Proponents of élészlelés suggest that it can be used for various purposes, such as finding lost items, predicting future events, or gaining insights into a person's character.

However, the scientific community has largely dismissed élészlelés as pseudoscience. Critics argue that there is no empirical evidence to support the existence of this ability, and that any perceived successes can be attributed to confirmation bias, suggestion, or cold reading techniques. Furthermore, the lack of double-blind studies and reproducible results further weakens the credibility of the phenomenon.
