It prevents falls by providing a secure working surface and handrails, and it also protects pedestrians and workers below from falling tools or debris through the use of debris netting and toe boards. Beyond safety, scaffolding facilitates efficient work by bringing workers and materials closer to the task at hand, improving productivity and reducing the need for more complex and potentially dangerous methods of access.
