zjazdowe

Zjazdowe is an adjective in the Polish language derived from zjazd (descent, downhill). It denotes objects, activities or styles designed for moving downhill on a slope, as opposed to uphill or flat-ground movement. The form zjazdowe is used with neuter nouns and with plural nouns, particularly with feminine plural nouns such as narty zjazdowe, and the masculine and feminine singular forms are zjazdowy and zjazdowa respectively.

In sport and recreation, zjazdowe is most commonly found in reference to equipment and disciplines connected with downhill movement. The best-known example is narty zjazdowe, or downhill skis, which are built for speed, stability and precise carving on steep slopes. They typically feature construction differences from cross-country or touring skis, including stiffness, sidecut geometry and sometimes rocker profiles to optimize performance on descents.

The term also appears in mountain biking and other contexts as rower zjazdowy (downhill bike), describing equipment optimized for steep descents and rough terrain, with features such as strong suspension and robust braking. More generally, zjazdowe can describe a style or approach oriented toward descending movement or downhill performance.
