Wrapper packaging, sometimes written as wrapperpackaging in some sources, is a packaging approach in which an outer wrapper, often a thin film, foil, or paper sheet, encloses a product to protect, conceal, and present it. The wrapper is typically formed around the item by a dedicated wrapping machine and can take several forms, including flow wrap (continuous film wrapped around the product and sealed at the ends), shrink wrap (film that is heated to snugly fit the item), and stretch wrap (film wrapped around pallets or bundles for stability). Common materials include plastic films such as oriented polypropylene, polyethylene, and PET, as well as paper and foil-based wrappers; more sustainable options include biodegradable or compostable films and paper alternatives.
