Other techniques include printing, where the dye is applied in a pattern, and dyeing in the mass, where the coloring agent is added to the material before it is formed into a final product, like in the production of colored plastics or yarns. The choice of dyeing method depends on the material, the desired color effect, and the intended use of the dyed item.
